Need to be addressed:
Improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of procurement procedures Description:
The Office of Administration will work to enhance and "repackage" Materiel Management's Storehouse system, which is web-based, to provide the campus with an e-procurement system. The Storehouse system is already integrated with DaFIS and is capable of accommodating multiple vendor catalogs. Once complete, the e-procurement system would, among other things: 1) support UCOP's Strategic Sourcing initiative, which leverages the purchasing power of the entire UC system to achieve outstanding pricing for goods and services; 2) make those Strategic Sourcing agreements readily accessible to departments; 3) provide users with a single site and shopping cart experience; and 4) streamline the purchasing and invoice payment processes.
