Need to be addressed:
Improve the campus' ability to respond to federal, state, union, UCOP and other constituencies' requests for complex data about the UC Davis workforce

Description:
The UC-wide Payroll Personnel System (PPS) is a legacy system for payroll - it is not a human resource management system. The UC Davis campus PPS decision support application is a modest attempt to bridge some of the gap between PPS and a fully operational human resources management (HRM) System. The need for a comprehensive, enterprise wide application that captures accurate, real-time workforce information from cradle to grave is essential to our ability to manage our workforce and meet complex reporting requirements. The proliferation of local human resources "systems" is a reflection of the inadequacies of the current "patchwork" approach. UC Berkeley and the UC Davis Health System have addressed this issue through the installation of PeopleSoft Human Resources and interfacing with the Payroll Personnel System.
