E-Recruitment / Why UC Davis

Need to be addressed:
Improve business efficiency and contain costs related to undergraduate student recruitment

Description:
E-Recruitment has become the primary communication and marketing tool used for recruiting prospective undergraduates. It decreases the need for print communications by containing costs and shifting the information load to the Internet. It also responds to the preferred way in which students today conduct their college search and handle business transactions. With e-Recruitment, Undergraduate Admissions' Outreach Services (UAOS) engages campus units in finding a voice for their programs and services on the WhyUCDavis Web site. The end result is a cohesive, enriched Web site targeted at serving prospective students. In addition, campus units would benefit from data collected from prospective students for segmented marketing efforts and narrowcast messaging, allowing them to build meaningful relationships with prospective students previously beyond their reach. e-Recruitment seeks permanent funding for its ongoing maintenance and to accommodate the growing number of prospective students accessing to the website. It also needs support for developing two new components that will improve business efficiency: a robust content management system necessary for ensuring campus-wide content is current and accurate and a contact management system for efficiently delivering and tracking contacts made.

Notes/Status:
Expecting to submit a request for permanent funding for the Why Web site component of e-Recruitment (to maintain its content and enhance its marketability to today's clients). In the meantime, MyAdmissions has received ongoing support from SISOC as part of the yearly maintenance of the Banner project.
